"Talahin Al-Khatt" in "Dubai Design" .. 16 paintings intertwined with stories of time

In the context, Rayan Hakki, director of the “Talaheen Al-Khatt” exhibition, says: The works of Her Highness Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al-Suwaidi in the “Talaheen Al-Khatt” group consist of 16 paintings, including multiple time intervals, and they represent repeated experiences in multiple stages of Her Highness Sheikha Khawla, Being a poet, writer and artist in Arabic calligraphy.

The letter has always played an important role in her life, inspiring her to think, write, draw and create her own philosophy of life.

Which formed an inspiring foundation for her dissertations on the establishment of the Khawla Foundation for Art and Culture, in support of the talented in various aspects of art and culture, to make their entry into this field accessible, with the artistic employment of the production of experienced people from inside and outside the country, towards a virtuous path, to make art and culture a system Knowledge within the reach of all segments, and then the angle of view of local and international culture opens, to establish an interactive partnership between them, and to develop artistic taste. Because art and literature are the fruit of conscience.

Rayan adds: The Khawla Foundation for Art and Culture aims to explore new ideas to develop the arts of Arabic calligraphy and creativity in it, to graduate competencies from distinguished calligraphers, in addition to consolidating the use of the Arabic language, its literature and the art of speaking it, in addition to establishing a creative environment for emerging youth at the hands of specialized experts. This contributes to activating interest in classical arts in all its forms, and focusing on reviving the art of Arabic calligraphy at the level of art, thought and culture.

Rayan points out that the exhibition sheds light on the calligraphy philosophy of Her Highness Sheikha Khawla, who considers the “letter” the basis of logic and wisdom, and from it crystallizes the stories of time and the beauty of feelings and thought, and from it she began translating her ideas into poems and eloquent sayings, sayings that touched the hearts of many young Emirati and Arab women.

She encouraged them to raise their voice and make it heard to the public, through their words and the expression of the contents of their hearts through art, poetry, etc. On the other hand, Her Highness seeks, through her paintings full of her poems and sayings, to guide the audience and visitors of the exhibition, to reflect on topics related to her own experiences in life, Highlighting the importance and importance of our Arabic language and culture.

And Rayan adds, when you contemplate the works of Her Highness Sheikha Khawla, you must feel the swaying of the words and her eloquence, as she has always been famous for her unique brush stroke, with which she writes her own style. And whenever she was asked about the way she used to draw her letters, she replied: “Drawings come to me by instinct...

It's a feeling I get as soon as I pick up my brush, and sit behind my desk, with melodies of music playing in the background. I can't describe that feeling, because in those moments I enter a world that no one can access except my thoughts, my imagination, and myself. Then I start creating calligraphy through my words.”

With regard to the clear differences between the presentation of “Creating Calligraphy”, through the “Talaheen Al-Khatt” group, and its previous artistic performances, Rayan explains: There is no doubt that the new group bears the characteristic of personal experience and its philosophical journey to develop the concept of Arabic calligraphy.

Sheikha Khawla chose to display her work this time in an exhibition that she founded herself, and she hopes, by doing so, that her message will be able to enhance the status of the art of Arabic calligraphy, and shed more and more light on it, by showing her the various stages of her personal journey with this art.

Regarding the concept of modernity, and linking Arabic calligraphy with contemporary culture, Rayan says: Based on the love of Her Highness Sheikha Khawla for the culture and history of Arab civilization and Arabic calligraphy, she tries to introduce a touch of modernity into her works.
