Fifty Years, Fifty Artworks

On the 50th UAE National Day launched by the President of the United Arab Emirates Fifty Years, Fifty Creatives An artistic, musical, fine, and cultural phenomenon Launched by Khawla Art Gallery for the UAE on its Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the 50th National Day pervade the UAE's seven emirates, during the fifty days leading to its National Day, to cover all

cultural, artistic, sports, school, and national levels.

Artists of different nationalities have celebrated festivals, athletes have raised the UAE's flag, and goodwill ambassadors have congratulated the UAE on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee. All the UAE is celebrating.

The smile on the faces of children, contentment in the hearts of adults, complete safety, lit streets, skyscrapers flirting with the moon, golden beaches, golf courses, overlapping bridges, carefully drawn roads, companies competing to offer the best to citizens and residents, and the 200 nationalities it gathers are celebrating all the meanings of this day.

A visitor to the Emirates must acknowledge that the UAE’s achievements in half a century usually require multiple centuries to happen. He must also admit that what was once a desert is now home to skyscrapers and is creating great development and civilizations thanks to the rulers of the country and the people.

With God’s grace, the UAE has become the star of the desert. It speaks all languages, is home to many nationalities, and recognizes that the human being is an ever-giving wealth and that ensuring the security of people and homelands produces safety and tranquility. UAE residents are joyous and reassured about the future. They sleep delighted because they live in a dream country.

Every day is a celebration in the UAE. Every day the streets of the UAE bloom with skyscrapers, hotels, suspension bridges, and parks. The schools of the UAE issue certificates every day, its universities offer specializations, its hospitals make new achievements, its exhibitions flourish with paintings, and its banks prosper with wealth.

And every night, the people of the Emirates are more assured of tomorrow and their future. The new generation will follow the path leading to a future full of achievements and a tomorrow full of tolerance and dialogue between different cultures.

Every day is a celebration in the UAE. The Golden Jubilee must be celebrated across the country and blossom with love and loyalty, that is the weakest form of Faith.

Fifty years Fifty Creatives

Khawla Art and Culture celebrated the Golden Jubilee and organized art exhibitions in the period leading to the Jubilee. It most recently organized the Unity in Diversity exhibition held at the Dubai Opera. A group of artists from different countries and nationalities participated in this exhibition and Her Highness Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Al Suwaidi, President of the Foundation, presented a selection of her artworks in poetry, calligraphy, and painting. This is in addition to the Fiftieth exhibition titled Fifty Years, Fifty Creatives, a tribute to the fiftieth anniversary of the UAE, in which a distinguished group of Emirati musicians, poets, artists, and calligraphers participated and presented fifty artworks. This reflects Her Highness’s keenness to support the people of the UAE and spread Emirati art and culture, while adhering to the heritage of the ancestors and maintaining progress and development.

Following the principle of “impossible is not Emirati,” Khawla Art Gallery, in cooperation with Khawla Art and Culture, launched Fifty Years, Fifty Creatives, an exhibition in which all the elements of culture came together from poetry, playing music, drawing, calligraphy, and sculpture. Its exhibits vary from several schools of art, as it displayed fifty works by fifty Emirati artists, a tribute to the UAE on its fiftieth anniversary.

Year of the Fiftieth

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, announced the designation of this year as the Year of the Fiftieth in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the UAE in 1971.

Since April 2021, everyone who considers the UAE their homeland has been invited to celebrate its achievements and honor the "first dreamers" with their families and write messages to the future about the progress they want to see in the next 50 years.
